These looks are from a recent collection which is the result of experimentation with athletic mesh fabric. My intention was to repurpose the nylon and spandex materials used for work-out wear into elegant cocktail dresses. The delicate pleating in these pieces adds fullness and drape to the silhouette and are accented with Swarovski crystals. Both looks are lined in nude 4-way lycra which contrasts the sheer mesh layer emphasizing the silhouette underneath, and sliming the body. The Aubergine mesh in look one is a custom color which I developed and dye myself. The nylon based mesh fabric is practical on so many levels: there are no zippers or other closures, just pull it on, it stretches to fit perfectly, you can hand wash it and hang dry in about 10 minutes, it does not hold a crease so wrinkles are not a problem, and it is so comfortable you can sleep in it. Plastics make it possible.
